Swiss Cheese

"Swiss Cheese" is about Brett (What is that short for?), an intern at a hospital's emergency room. Her mother was brutally murdered when Brett had just graduated and she seems to be struggling with her job. Then, Jack, a suicidal, death row convict comes in all cut up. After a long surgery Jack and Brett have many (and interesting) interactions. In the end, Brett decides to let him "cheat death" and kill himself.

I really like the interactions between Jack and Brett. Specifically whenever he asks her, "Would it make you feel better?" Asking that shows a lot about Jack's character and it got him away from being just a stereotypical murderer you'd find on CSI (which I still think it can delve into that at some points). The story also flows nicely. You know when to stop the interactions and get inside Brett's head. You know how much is enough and so on.

Having said that, I think you need to work on Jack and Brett just a little bit more. For Jack: he can still delve into CSI bad guy mode and that took me out of it. He almost become an object to be studied instead of a person with major issues. I would tone it down is all. For Brett: I feel like the change in her isn't earned yet. If she really has some sympathy for the guy, it needs to be shown more. Her decision seems to come out of nowhere and from a place where she's still bitter about everything.
